SEND Commissioning Manager

The role:

We have a clear vision for the kind of place we want Sutton to be and we are ambitious for our children and young people. Together we want to provide them with the best chances to achieve the best outcomes in life whatever their starting point, and prepare them effectively for adulthood.

Do you want to work in a fast-paced, high-performing children’s commissioning team on a range of projects across the Council, Education and Health to support and shape services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you thrive on innovation, transformation and working with a myriad of different stakeholders in order to ensure you are making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people?

Playing a key role in our Commissioning Team, as a Commissioning Manager, you will support and lead all aspects of the commissioning cycle.

You will need to creatively draw on a wide range of resources and assets across established and newly-forming partnerships, organisations and the community to ensure that both the council and the CCG’s strategic priorities as set out in the Sutton Health and Care Plan are delivered.  We expect you to be collaborative, engaging and have a strong track record of co-design and co-production, using your skills across a wide variety of commissioning and transformation projects.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can help us continue to transform the way we provide services to young people with a Special Educational Need.

  • Has experience in this field and a strong commitment to protecting the rights of disabled people and their families.

  • Can lead on service re-design that supports our ambitious programme of high quality service delivery for children and young people whilst achieving value for money.
