About the role

These are incredibly exciting times here at LV= GI. We’re already one of the largest personal lines insurers in the UK and now we are part of Allianz, a world-leading financial services company, this means things are changing – quickly – and for the better.

At the forefront of this change is the GI IT team. In the role of Senior Analyst Developer, you’ll take the lead to analyse user requirements and integrate the work between ClaimCenter and external/internal interfaces. Becoming the SME in Middleware development, you will be responsible for coding these integration points, and as an expert in MuleSoft you will be the go-to of the team to provide some guidance and mentorship to up-skill your colleagues in this integration application.

Keeping up with the ever changing landscape of LV=GI requires an Agile methodology, so the team work across Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe), and you will be working within multidisciplinary Scrum teams collaborating closely and effectively to deliver effective, reliable IT solutions to high standards of quality and performance to the agreed timescales.

About you

With your expertise as a Middleware developer, you are now looking for a new opportunity where you can make a big impact. You are an expert in MuleSoft integration software, as well as Java applications, and you have the ambition to support and develop your colleagues around you to ensure the team are all performers in this area.

Any experience of Spring Integration would be advantageous if you have used it commercially in a finance or other corporate sector. Perhaps you have ClaimCenter expertise already, having worked within Guidewire and insurance before, but if not and you’re a quick learner, this Java developed application will be easy for you to pick up. Full training will be given in the LV=GI systems and applications, so although financial/insurance sector Middleware and Java development is a big advantage, if you have strong technical skills evidenced in your CV then it shouldn’t stop you applying.

You’ll certainly have worked within Agile frameworks before; have been in Scrum teams and perhaps already well versed in SAFe methodologies. Either way, you thrive in a collaborative and challenging environment where together with your team you deliver to your internal and external customers in a time efficient and high quality, results focussed way.

Ideally you will have mentored or supported other developers around you, as the high volume of integrations that the team are facing require you to help up-skill others in Middleware and MuleSoft integration. Working closely with the IT Development manager, you may be required to deputise from time to time: reporting, attending meetings and coaching. A great opportunity for your own progression and development too.
