Senior Business Development Manager - London

Our Tax Sales and Marketing Team (SMT) are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Professional to support our Priority Client Programme, with the objective of driving revenue growth across core Tax and People and Organisation services. This role line manages to the Head of Sales for Tax and reports to the Sales and Marketing Director for Tax, but will work closely the integrated Tax Sales & Marketing Team as well as other internal functions such as the New Business team and the Strategic Account Management team.

This role sits within the wider Sales & Marketing function of PwC. Sales & Marketing is a centralised support function and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. We are looking for someone who can help build the foundations of our business development function and grow with the role. You must have a strong track record of building relationships with key senior stakeholders and be entrepreneurial in your approach to solving problems. You will use your resourcefulness, knowledge of our products and services (which will be built over time), and sector specialism to identify new business opportunities and push them forward while also acting as a conduit to facilitate internal collaboration with relevant teams. You will have a strong client focus and possess a professional resilience that helps you adapt to the changing aspects of the role and work towards driving external client facing activity. You will develop and implement National sales campaigns and work with the business to articulate propositions. This is an exciting role that requires an ambitious and commercially-minded candidate who can adapt to changing priorities and deliver exceptional internal and external client service.

Role Responsibilities
  • Understand client issues as they relate to Tax and People and Organisation and use this knowledge to further penetrate the Priority Client Programme.

  • Work with the Partners, subject matter experts, Account Managers, industry teams and client teams to sell in to specific markets and sectors, including development of sales materials to support client conversations.

  • Project manage the collation and development of the Tax BD Matrix and suite of supporting materials.

  • Implement and manage an informal internal communications plan for Tax Sales & Marketing Team to better coordinate the team with our key stakeholders and relevant peer teams.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the relevant PwC Tax propositions and technology solutions and act as a champion for these when networking with key internal networks and contributing to client conversations.

  • Lead on the Salesforce strategy, including overseeing and managing the PCP revenue and pipeline reporting requirements and further integrating the tool into the BD capability.

  • Attend relevant client and/or intermediary events to network and represent PwC. Ensure effective follow up.

  • Work towards making this a client facing role which would require you to establish a network of commercial relationships with key buyers for Tax and People and Organisation and develop a pipeline of opportunities on priority accounts and drive the pursuit process through to conclusion.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Demonstrated experience in a business development role within PwC, Legal and/or other complex service-focused organisations. Experience of Professional Services would be preferable albeit not essential.

  • Experience of working with Salesforce is preferential, and a passion for analytics would be beneficial

  • Strong experience of developing and managing relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders.

  • Evidence of working with other teams in sales & marketing functions on cross-functional projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at a senior level.

  • Strong business and commercial acumen allowing you to analyse and interpret data.

  • The proven ability to develop and drive a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.

  • Previous experience of managing / driving sales campaigns with associated project management skills.
