Costain helps to improve people’s lives by deploying technology-based engineering solutions to meet urgent national needs across the UK’s energy, water and transportation infrastructures.
The HS2 Main Civils Contracts include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The first 16 months of the project will involve detailed design, pricing and building up target cost, with work on site likely to start in early 2020.
Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM driven), SCL tunnels/adits, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, utilities diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.

Security Vetting: HS2 requires SCS to undertake security vetting on all staff to the UK Government Baseline Personal Security Standard. All successful candidates will be subject to this vetting procedure as part of the on-boarding process.
What will I be doing?
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Data Analyst (BI Lead) on our HS2 Main Works contract.

About the role:
The BI Analyst will primarily be responsible for the delivery of all reporting and dashboarding across the programme utilising a variety of tools and techniques as demanded by the business needs. This role will report into the Enterprise and Data Architect.
Responsible for the Project BI platform including support, utilization and administration.
Responsible for working with functional departments to produce reporting requirements and collaborate with digital team and related vendors to create report underlaying data structure.
Responsible for the timely delivery of all dashboarding and reporting requirements across the JV ensuring delivery effort is prioritised across projects and teams with frequent reporting of progress to all stakeholders. The delivery includes user training to self-maintain the reports and dashboards.
Develop and maintain reporting software development standards that can be adopted by other teams, ensuring alignment to best practice.
Develop and maintain usability and “look and feel” guidelines for adoption across the programme
Responsible for the development of self-training packages for the BI platform that other members of the team and other functions can use and for delivering user training.
Maintains awareness of technology changes within the BI software industry and uses them to inform technology roadmaps and choices
Supports the ongoing development and maintenance of the corporate data warehouse
Works with functional departments to ensure the consistent application of data standards and data quality policies across all technology projects, systems and services
Responsible for development of the master data management framework
Supports data quality awareness across the JV
Work with the customer HS2 to align overall data domain models and data standards.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable experience in the development of reports and dashboards to a diverse set of stakeholders in a fast paced environment
Good SQL development capability
Highly skilled in mainstream BI tools (including but not limited to Power BI)
Self-Starter, able to plan and prioritise workloads
Experience in developing complex data models.
Cloud Experience (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) - especially Azure
Leading software development – especially reporting & dashboarding solutions
A Proven track record in technology adoption
