Senior Data Engineer - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)Location: Fareham, UKThe opportunity:This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics and Architecture team. You’ll have the opportunity to transform data across Zurich General Insurance UK. You will be working with a variety of complex datasets to drive business performance from designing new data solutions & developing new analytical pipelines.The ideal candidate will be a Senior Data Engineer who will have a “can-do” attitude, strong experience using the Microsoft Azure technology stack including Data Factory. You will have great T-SQL skills plus an understanding of Python or other object-orientated programming languages. You must be an excellent communicator and able to establish strong relationships with relevant stakeholders as well as confident in providing technical guidance to the Data Engineering team.This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain and support data pipeline processes from a variety of data sources such as databases, data files, XML & JSON.Implement, maintain and enhance data pipeline processes for Data Warehouse and Data Mart solutions.Provide technical leadership, guidance and direction as well as facilitating training and development sessions with members of the team.Assist with Cloud migration strategy, using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Snowflake etc.Design and document data integration technical specifications & processes. Ensuring unit tests on development work is planned and carried out across the time.Diagnosing and solving production issues.Assist with Peer Reviews and System Integration Testing, working closely with QA Analysts & Test Manager.Proactively drive sprint planning and the creation of tasks to help understand burndown against project timelines.Your skills and experience:Personal skillsExcellent problem-solving skills and able to deal with ambiguity.
