As Senior Membership Marketing and Database Officer, I have two, interrelated aspects to my role. One is to support the growth of membership numbers by ensuring that members are engaged with and feel central to the charity’s work. This includes looking for ways to promote membership across Rethink Mental Illness’s communication channels and project managing the membership magazine ‘Your Voice’. It also includes helping to co-ordinate the annual National Members Day/AGM event in the autumn (a streamlined version of which is happening online this year).
The other aspect is working with the database team helping to shape and develop the new CRM supporter database to effectively manage member enquires so that our member communications and updates are as efficient as possible. This includes attending project team meetings, representing the needs of our members, and helping to introduce new systems and processes.
The role sits within a busy, varied communications function, and I work closely with team members, as well as being able to work under my own initiative.
This is a part time role (21 hours per week) with a fixed term contract to 31 October 2021. While based at our Head Office in central London, for the time being all members of the communications team are working from home (as a safety precaution in light of the pandemic).
