About the Role:

We are looking for a Signalling Designer who is able to undertake signalling design activities for GRIP 1 to 4 type activities within their own knowledge and experience levels.

You will be required to support the Head of Discipline (Signalling) in the production of early stage design and scheme development work as part of the WSP signalling design group activities whilst maximising effectiveness associated with best use of standard design processes and procedures.

You will work within the design team and interface with other disciplines along with project management and commercial staff to deliver safe, successful and efficient projects.

In this role you will act as an interface between the Design Team Leaders and junior members of staff, ensuring consistency in the application of best practice and ensuring that issues are raised and dealt with appropriately.

A typical week would include:

  • Feasibility Studies/Option Analysis/Appraisal.

  • Scheme development and Detailed Design.

  • Undertaking signalling design, commensurate with own knowledge and experience and within the budget provision for the work.

  • Produce Engineering Reports and Signalling Risk Assessments.

  • Train and mentor junior staff in design process and technical matters.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • IRSE Licence 1.1.510 (or equivalent), Signalling Designer (essential).

  • An HNC or equivalent level in a relevant subject.

  • A minimum of 5 Years of relevant Experience.

  • IRSE Licence 1.1.160 (or equivalent), Signalling Design Verifier (desirable).

  • Membership of the IRSE or other Engineering Institution (desirable).

  • Current PTS certificate (desirable).
