What is on offer?

The Technology Returner programme will be based in our London office and is designed for experienced IT professionals who are ready to build on previous skills and experience and want to embrace new opportunities ahead. The paid programme commences on April 29th and finishes on the 19th July 2019. Whilst there is no guarantee of a permanent position, there will be genuine consideration for an ongoing opportunity at the end of the programme depending on business needs and availability of appropriate opportunities.
This programme is a great opportunity to learn new skills, build a new network and gain exposure to exciting projects in a truly global financial services organisation.

A Software Engineer in Nomura is responsible for enabling technology transformation through the design, development and testing of program code to deliver agreed business requirements. A SE should be a team player, with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical and problem solving skills.

They key objectives for this role will be to:

  • Deliver business value through the production of high-quality, secure and testable code.

  • Maintain and improve the functionality and performance of existing software

  • Motivate and develop junior staff

The ideal returner will have:

  • Full software development lifecycle experience

  • Experience writing / reviewing and understanding business requirement documents, or User Stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Experience of Java and /or Javascript frameworks is desirable. 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

This role is for 4 or 5 days a week.
