More about the role:

In order to accomplish that mission we are looking for smart developers looking to learn new things, happy to be involved in a challenging project and a nice environment to collaborate and develop their career. We are looking to hire a passionate Front-End Engineer at our Holborn HQ where you will be supported by your Sainsbury’s Tech colleagues and community.

You will be working in one of our autonomous Scrum teams creating modern JavaScript/React UI and data visualisations for Marketeers to manage their Campaigns across Sainsbury’s more efficiently. You will be part of wider teams building applications that surface and explore our Nectar and other Brand data across all Sainsbury’s Digital Channels.

You will develop tools and applications by producing clean, maintainable code and together with your Product Team own and support features produced throughout the entire lifecycle. You participate in team ceremonies, collaborate with Sainsbury’s Tech teams and third-party vendors, and suggest potential areas for improvement to achieve business outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience building client-side web applications using React. Good understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and SASS.

  • Experience with Redux and middleware such as Redux Saga and Thunk. Awareness of React Hooks is a plus!

  • Experience writing and automating unit & integration tests. Awareness of CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.

  • Enthusiastic about building a maintainable product and supporting it.

  • Ability to communicate with product owners and architects within the team.
