The role:

Applications are invited for the role of Student Recruitment Events Manager, based in the Student Recruitment Events team within the External Relations department. The Events team works collaboratively with colleagues across student recruitment, marketing and digital teams to ensure that events are targeted and planned effectively to meet the needs of prospective students who are considering study at the University of Nottingham. As such, the team makes a significant contribution to the University’s student recruitment strategy through planning and delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate physical and virtual events which showcase our course portfolio and student life at the University of Nottingham.

Two part-time posts are being offered. The role-holders will work closely with each other, under the leadership of the Head of Student Recruitment Events, to lead and line-manage a small, high-performing team in the successful planning and delivery of virtual and physical open days and other undergraduate and postgraduate events for applicants and pre-applicants. The role-holders will liaise closely with colleagues in academic departments and professional services to ensure engagement and support across the university. The post-holders will also be responsible for supporting the Head of Recruitment in implementing events planning and strategy in response to data and feedback and in monitoring performance against targets.

Applicants must show substantial experience of events organisation and management, as well as proven experience of supervising others. They must demonstrate high levels of competence and confidence in using IT and digital solutions, and possess strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills. Excellent presentation skills are essential, together with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and with external agencies.

Due to the nature of the role, the role holders will be required to work flexibly out of hours including some evenings and weekends in order to deliver events.

Two part-time posts (21.75 hours each) are offered on a permanent basis.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 15 December.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Wenonah Barton, email wenonah.barton@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
