About the role

This is a senior Technical Role within LV= General Insurance Group, with a high level of accountability and responsibility, working in a very dynamic environment.

The primary purposes of this Role are to define Enterprise Technology Strategies for the Company, whilst taking account of the Technology direction of the wider Allianz Group; put in place repeatable Architecture Patterns, and produce Infrastructure Solution Designs. Security and Service are key aspects of these Designs.

The Role entails working closely with and influencing a wide variety of Business and Technical Stakeholders, understanding overall Business and IT Strategy, organisational fit, compliance and on-going business change requirements.

In addition to the above, the Role is responsible for the Architectural Assurance of Deliveries and for the QA of Peer Deliverables. This includes production of high level Operational Acceptance Test Plans.

A key element of the Role is the research of market leading Technologies and Technology Services, along with the generation of Business cases to present to Architectural Design Authorities in order to justify purchase / implementation.

The Role is not ‘hands-on’, nor is it a Technical Lead Role, but it may entail working with SME’s to provide Advice & Guidance during implementation.

The Role includes Technology Governance across multiple Technology areas to ensure that the right decisions are being made, and are for the benefit of the Company.

The Role sits in a small team of Technical Architects, reporting to the Lead Technical Architect, which is part of a wider Architecture Team, reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, and then through to the CIO and CEO.
